This Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) is completely a new thing in Costa Rica. Many people have questions about this, and some are not sure about how it will work.

At our end, we are very curious if it will work just as it is supposed to. A couple of weeks ago, we shared an article with the main content of the regulation, and ever since we have been receiving a lot of questions on how it is filed, the requirements, the processing time, if we are offering the service, the costs, etc.

The process seems fairly simple, but again, we are not sure if it will work as simply as it is presented. We are not ready to offer this service, as we are not sure whether process can be completed by the Immigration Department (DGME) without any issues, and the DGME has a history of issues, you can read some of them here.

So this is what we are doing:

First, do some testing

We are processing two dozen applications for the Digital Nomad Visa with no legal costs for the clients, we are processing this as part of a Pro Bono Program. Clients only need to pay the expenses and government fees. We will use these applications as a test drive to see if they will be processed smoothly by the DGME or if they will have issues.

Last week we did a webinar about the DNV and we invited people in the webinar to join the DNV Pro Bono Program.

Second, share results

Once we have processed the applications we will be sharing a How-To video in our YouTube channel. Considering that the process should be fairly simple, we would like to share a guide for everyone to use and then they can file the applications on their own.

Third, share the experience

During the process, we will be sharing updates for people to learn about the hurdles.

Fourth, do an FAQ

As we have been receiving lots of questions about this, and will continue to receive them, we will prepare an FAQ. If you have questions you would like so send to us, please share them in our Facebook Group called Move Invest Live.

We will do our best to share good information with the community. Stay tuned.
